Apocalypse Now

September08

Look at me
Father, mother, someone, anyone
Look at me!
I have given you everything
My life of obedience and devotion
Yet you toss me aside
Is my sin just too great?
I am no different from you
This exile you now place me in
How dare you!
The world is crumbling around you
Everything will be lost in time
But you won’t cease to hold this over me
Why can’t you look at me?
Your son, your friend
You have all been my life
My forever
Will forever fade in your eyes?
You will never look at me
Even as we fall to dust
I don’t need you
